A PARISH AS A LAY READER
If you are looking
to help start a new parish, you can start your ministry as a layman, even
if you do not feel called to the priesthood. All that is required is
to get commissioned as a Lay Reader, and you can apply for a charter
for a new parish. As a lay reader, your parish or ministry can
involve worship services in the form of Daily Offices (not the mass),
and much more.
To get a
commission as a Lay Reader, you must be of good moral character and
pass an examination on the Catechism. To receive more information on
